Description:
Edwards ended his campaign in early August after the House Ethics Committee recommended censuring him over sexual harrassment claims.
Edward's top priorities are to "continue rebuilding WNC (western North Carolina) from Hurricane Helene" and "closing the border to illegals, cartels and drugs.” He aspires to "fight for ways to restructure and streamline FEMA" and provide a pathway to legalize undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. prior to 2021. He has sponsored legislation prohibiting ballot harvesting and compelling local jurisdictions to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement efforts. He is endorsed by Grass Roots NC and NC Police Benevolent Association. He has also received the Conservative Excellence Award by the American Conservative Union. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Budget Committee. In 2022, he defeated then incumbent Congressman Madison Cawthorn and six other candidates in the Republican primary. He is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for allegations of sexual harassment, including inappropriate behavior with young female staffers. In an interview, he called the allegations “horseshit.”

Edwards lives in Flat Rock, N.C. with his wife, Teresa. His favorite movie is “Crimson Tide,” and he loves playing golf. He was a former director at Entegra Financial Corporation. He and his wife recently sold their McDonald’s franchises. His franchising office had recently banned a protester after she entered one of his properties with a marching band and played a protest song. Edwards attended Blue Ridge Community College for business, accounting and marketing.
