Gaston County Sheriff

The Gaston County Sheriff serves as the chief law enforcement officer for Gaston County, which has a population of over 200,000. The Sheriff’s office seeks to provide “quality law enforcement, detention, court security and civil services to the citizens and visitors of Gaston County.” The county has a separate police department and sheriff’s office, which perform different functions. The county sheriff appears to be the highest paid publicly elected official in the county.
