The Gaston Business Association Questionnaire

Please provide a short introduction (50 words or less) highlighting your background and achievements.

As a long time Gastonia Resident, I bring proven leadership from business and 30 years community service. I focus on accountability, fiscal responsibility, and practical solutions. My background in Community Leadership and management equips me to strengthen local government while ensuring our community thrives economically and socially.

What inspired you to run for city/town council, and what specific qualities or experiences make you well-suited for this role?

I was inspired to run because I believe local government works best when it is accountable, transparent, and focused on results. My professional background in business management has taught me how to balance budgets, make tough decisions, and bring people together around common goals. Combined with my community involvement, I am prepared to serve as a steady, solutions-driven voice on council.

What are your top priorities for your city/town (specifically pertaining to the business community), and how do you plan to address them if elected?

My top priorities for the business community are cutting unnecessary red tape, improving infrastructure to support growth, and fostering a climate where small businesses can succeed. If elected, I will work with business leaders to streamline permitting processes, advocate for smart investments in roads and utilities, and ensure that city policies encourage—not discourage—entrepreneurship and job creation.

Please select one of the following local issues, and provide a brief description of your stance on the topic: Economic Development, Public Safety, Transportation & Infrastructure, or Education.

I believe economic development starts with supporting our existing businesses while attracting new opportunities that fit our community’s character. That means a mixture of modern infrastructure, competitive tax policies, and strong partnerships between government and business. By creating a predictable and fair environment, we can continue to expand our tax base, create good jobs, and strengthen the local economy for years to come.
