Description:

Knott’s priorities include securing the U.S. border, defending 2nd Amendment gun rights and providing public school choice for parents. According to his website, he will fight to protect "faith-based pregnancy centers that offer alternatives to abortion" and work with the police to undercut the effects of drugs and crime. As a prosecutor, he says he worked with state police to investigate and convict organized crime. Knott recently introduced a bill supported by the American Truckers Association to reduce freight fraud. He recently authored an opinion piece for the Washington Times advocating the modernization of the FAA. Knott serves on the House Judiciary, Ethics, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Homeland Security committees.

Knott grew up in Raleigh, where he continues to live with his wife, Joanna, and two daughters. He was a former federal prosecutor for the Eastern District of North Carolina. He received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a JD from Wake Forest University.
