Description:
According to her website, Eason "became active in politics a few years ago when her family’s pharmacies faced potential closure due to consolidation in the healthcare industry, making legislation the only remedy.” In the most recent legislative session, she says she “played a key role in advocating for and advising pharmacy-related legislation." She says her legislative priorities are job creation, tax cuts, small business support and lowering healthcare costs. As a "lifelong conservative," she said she's an advocate for free market and "patient choice," limited government and fiscal conservatism. She suggested implementing an initiative like South Carolina's Pennies for Progress to give voters the chance to decide to finance transportation-related projects. Eason said she wants to pay teachers more to make sure Gaston County doesn't lose talent. She also says she supports patients' right to choose their doctors and which vaccines to get, "protecting women's sports" and "gun rights." She says she believes her district needs "new, youthful energy to tackle today's challenges."
Other personal:
Eason describes herself on her LinkedIn page as "Christian. Advocate. Pharmacist. North Carolinian." She has "taken over the reins" at her family's pharmacy, TAS Drug, an independent pharmacy chain in Cherryville. She is recently engaged to be married and has a Doctor of Pharmacy from UNC Chapel Hill's School of Pharmacy.
