Description:

On her website, Ross' top priorities include decreasing prescription drug costs, ensuring Social Security for senior citizens, combatting racial gerrymandering, expanding voting rights and investing in infrastructure. She sits on the House Judiciary and Ethics Committees.  She also sits on the Immigration Subcommittee and recently visited an ICE processing facility in Cary. She called additional ICE funding a “waste of money” and an “abuse of power.” She recently voted  for the controversial “Massie Amendment” to rescind military support for Israel. She was the former state director of the N.C. American Civil Liberties Union and ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 2016.

Other personal:

Ross was born in Philadelphia and has lived in Raleigh for over 25 years. She lives with her husband, Steve Wrinn. She also considers herself to be a dedicated "dog mom" to her family's dog, Wylie. In 2024, she introduced the Petfax Act in Congress to deter puppy mills.  Ross received a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a JD from UNC Chapel Hill.
