Description:

Crisp is chairman of the board and running for reelection. He campaigned on increasing school safety by adding more school resource officers, making the curriculum more accessible to parents and phasing out standardized testing. He also said he wanted to represent students, parents and teachers through strong school leadership. As chairman of the Gaston County Board of Education, he has worked with district leadership and county commissioners on school governance and budget matters.

Crisp lives in Dallas Township with his wife and two daughters. He previously served as a firefighter and EMT before becoming director of the Regional Emergency Services Training Center at Gaston College. He earned a bachelor's degree from Warren Wilson College and an associate degree from Gaston College.
