Description:

Hollo describes himself as conservative. He is running for his second term as an N.C. Senator after previously serving three terms in the N.C. House.  He was the first primary sponsor on four bills in the most recent legislative session including one to reduce early voting periods in North Carolina. He has advocated for physicians assistants in the legislature, including legislation to allow them to sign and complete death certificates. His additional legislative work includes physician assistant licensure and team-based practice, interbasin transfer reform, child-passenger safety, Conover water/wastewater infrastructure, and moving certain Catawba County municipal elections to even-numbered years. He is a member of five standing or select committees and three non-standing committees. He was one of two N.C. Senators who was present and voted in 100% of the 701 votes in the most recent legislative session.

Other personal:

Hollo lives in Conover and is a former Air Force reservist. He is married and has two sons and several grandchildren.  He was a physician assistant for approximately 40 years when he retired in 2021.  He co-owned a medical practice and taught at Lenoir-Rhyne University’s physician assistant program. He attended Southern Illinois University and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine (now the Wake Forest PA School).
