Description:
Mohammed is seeking his fifth term, and this is the third consecutive time he has been unopposed. Mohammed is a children's rights advocate and a former assistant public defender in Mecklenburg County. His website lists his priorities as a quality education system, an economy that fosters local innovation and policies that create fairness and opportunity for everyone. He was the first primary sponsor of 28 bills in the most recent legislative session, including proposals to provide two free meals a day to public school students, expand a greenway in Davidson and allocate $5 million in state funds to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library. Mohammed was present for 632 of 701 votes in the most current legislative session.
