Description:

Poovey has served as a superior court judge for over 20 years and says he gives every person in court the opportunity to be heard. Before becoming a judge, he was a partner in a law firm in Newton. Poovey was part of a three-judge panel in 2022 that upheld new election maps that the state legislature had passed. He also filed an opinion defending a voter ID law in 2021.
