Robbie Gonzalez

Gonzalez has served on the board for the past eight years and represents Conover. He opposes the merger of the county’s school districts. He told the Hickory Daily Record that his priorities are to ensure the district’s finances are stable and to finish construction of Newton-Conover High School. Gonzalez has called for a comprehensive study of the proposed merger’s educational and financial effects, rather than relying principally on a facilities/capacity analysis. He is a Leadership Catawba alumnus.
