Elliott was appointed to the Superior Court in December 2024 following the retirement of her predecessor, Greg Hayes. She was previously a chief district court judge and an attorney in private practice. She was elected district court judge six times. She was also appointed to then Gov. Roy Cooper’s Crime Commission.
