Cabarrus County Clerk of Superior Court

The Cabarrus County Clerk of Superior Court is a judicial officer in North Carolina who manages court administration and also certain judicial decision-making duties. The Clerk's office is the primary record-keeper for the county's court system. The office keeps records for civil, criminal and probate cases and ensures public access to case information. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, registered to vote in the county and living in the county.

The Clerk of Superior Court is elected to a four-year term in a partisan race. Republican incumbent Bill Baggs defeated two other candidates in the March primary and is now unopposed. Both the Charlotte Observer and the Cabarrus Compass reported that a superior court judge found probable cause in a petition to remove Baggs from office prior to the primary. The case was dismissed in April.
