Gaston County Sheriff (Republican Primary)

The Election Hub has partnered with the Gaston Business Association to bring voters information about Gaston County candidates. 

The Gaston County Sheriff serves as the chief law enforcement officer for Gaston County, which has a population of over 200,000. The Sheriff’s office seeks to provide “quality law enforcement, detention, court security and civil services to the citizens and visitors of Gaston County.” The county does have a separate police department and sheriff’s office, which perform different functions. The county sheriff appears to be the highest paid publicly elected official in the county.

There are no Democratic candidates in this race; therefore, the winner of this primary will be unopposed in the general election. The winner will serve a four-year term.
