The Gaston Business Association Questionnaire

Please provide a short introduction (50 words or less) highlighting your background and achievements.

I'm a lifelong Mount Holly resident, small business owner, and community volunteer. With over two decades of local business experience and service on the Parks & Rec Commission and Historical Society, I’m committed to preserving our city’s charm while promoting responsible growth.

What inspired you to run for city/town council, and what specific qualities or experiences make you well-suited for this role?

My deep roots in Mount Holly and daily engagement with residents through my business have shown me the importance of responsive, transparent leadership. As someone who has both served and employed in this community, I understand the challenges and opportunities we face and bring practical, people-first decision-making to the table.

What are your top priorities for your city/town (specifically pertaining to the business community), and how do you plan to address them if elected?

My top priorities include supporting small business growth, streamlining city permitting processes, and creating incentives to attract locally owned startups. If elected, I’ll advocate for open forums between city officials and business owners to ensure policies reflect real-world needs and keep Mount Holly’s economy thriving and inclusive.

Please select one of the following local issues, and provide a brief description of your stance on the topic: Economic Development, Public Safety, Transportation & Infrastructure, or Education.

Mount Holly’s growth must balance progress with preservation. I support strategic economic development that attracts sustainable businesses while protecting our town’s character. This means investing in infrastructure, promoting local entrepreneurship, and working with regional partners to bring long-term, good-paying jobs to our residents without overburdening existing resources.
