Angela White Edwards

This is White Edwards' fifth time running for the District 2 seat. In 2016, 2018 and 2022, she ran as a Democrat against then incumbent Vilma Leake in the primary. In previous elections, she has said in survey responses that the "District needs a new beginning." Additionally, according to a survey on the Charlotte Observer in 2024, her top issues are community safety — specifically from drug dealers and gangs — and making mental health resources more effective.
