Cameron (Chip) Harrison

Harrison was appointed to the court in 2025 by Gov. Josh Stein. He previously worked as an assistant public defender. Before that, he was in private practice and taught business law at Alamance Community College. On his Instagram page, he says that he is "working to ensure everyone gets a fair and just trial."

As Harrison has been a judge for just over a year, there are no published decisions available to provide a sense of his judicial philosophy. A review of appellate decisions did not identify any cases in which Harrison's orders were reversed or vacated on appeal. He appears to be family oriented, and passionate about the communities he believes in. He does not have any criminal convictions in North Carolina and has never been disciplined by the State Bar.
