Description:

Reilly began his legal career in 1989 as an assistant district attorney.  Before being elected district attorney, he was a criminal law attorney in private practice. When he was first elected in 2019, he had a backlog of 60 murder cases. He defeated an incumbent district attorney at the time. Reilly’s hashtag on his candidate social media is #saferwithScott.

Reilly lives in Conover and is married. His son Matthew was killed in a motorcycle accident in the year before his first campaign and Reilly dedicated his initial win to him. He has a bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a JD from Cooley Law School (in Michigan).
