Description:
Harrigan's campaign focuses on border security, economic growth, reducing government spending, strengthening national defense and supporting constitutional rights. He argues that federal government spending, illegal immigration and excessive regulation have weakened economic opportunities and national security. Harrigan has stated that his military and business experience gives him a practical perspective on national security and economic competitiveness. He ran unsuccessfully in the 14th Congressional District for a U.S. House seat in 2022. Opponents criticized Harrigan for switching from the 14th Congressional District to the 10th, while Harrigan said the move reflected changes in the state's congressional map.

Harrigan was born in San Diego County and attended high school there. He has a home in Hickory. He is a former Army Special Forces officer and the founder of a firearms manufacturing company. He is married and has two daughters. During his 2022 Congressional campaign, his parent’s home in Hickory was targeted in a shooting. He earned a bachelor's degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and studied nuclear engineering.
