Description:
Hudson's top priorities are national security, the economy, education, energy and healthcare. He aspires to enable "the United States to maintain the most lethal, agile, robust military in the world," make education "state and locally-controlled," develop "more of American's own energy resources" to reduce dependence on Middle Eastern oil, "support reforms which lower-out-of-pocket spending" for healthcare, and defend "our Second Amendment" while "improv[ing] gun and school safety." He mentioned in an interview with Punchbowl News that one of his priorities was to ensure America beats China in the race to AI. He has introduced bills that prohibit doxxing of special operations personnel and prevent Federal agencies from considering the impact of greenhouse gases on expenditures. He sits on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and he is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. He was endorsed by Donald Trump in 2024.

Hudson grew up in Charlotte, and he lives in Southern Pines. He is married and has a son. He was a former Congressional staffer and served as communications director for the N.C. Republican Party. He is passionate about hunting and the outdoors. Hudson attended Myers Park High School and has a bachelor's from UNC Charlotte, where he was student body president.
