Description:

Ojeda says he wants to protect veterans’ benefits, secure greater federal funding for rural schools and teachers, cap prescription drug costs and “hold Big Pharma accountable” and protect Social Security.  According to an interview on “The Young Turks,” a progressive political commentary show, Ojeda mentioned that his daughter was born with scoliosis and hip impingement syndrome, so if she were to get pregnant, she would likely die, which is why he is an advocate for abortion rights. He also mentioned that he believes billionaires "are the enemy of the people." He also mentioned wanting to "require lobbyists to wear body cameras" when they are talking to a member of Congress.

Other personal:

Ojeda spent much of his youth in West Virginia. He joined the military and spent 15 of his 24 years in the U.S. Army in Fayetteville, N.C,. and the rest overseas. He has a bachelor’s from West Virginia State University and a master’s from Webster University.
