The Election Hub Questionnaire

Please provide demographic information about yourself to help voters (age, education, current occupation, where you live).

69 year old emergency and public health physician residing in Davidson

Why are you running for this role and why should voters pick you?  Please share any experience in an elected role that would be relevant to voters.

I have completed a single term as a Davidson town board member and my priority as a physician is community well being with a long term perspective. I would like some additional time in public service to bring this perspective to bear on the challenges and opportunities for the town of Davidson.

Tell us about 2-3 professional accomplishments you have achieved in your work experience (not limited to public service) that give voters a sense of your leadership style or skills.

Expanded a health care multi-professional group from 2 contracts and a 2 million dollar annual revenue to a 5 contract 20 million dollar organization, established the specialty of emergency medicine in Tanzania, enacted a climate action plan and co-responders program in Davidson.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish in the first six months if elected?

A natural resource round table with a goal of establishing a town natural resource management plan.

What is your position on the proposed transit tax and why? Will you vote in favor of it or against it in November?

In favor of this transit tax despite its regressive nature to assure that our local government does not step back from the transportation infrastructure required for our region.

What endorsements from any notable NC organizations or individuals have you received?

None received, none sought

Tell us something unexpected about you that voters may be interested to know.
