The Election Hub Questionnaire

Please provide demographic information about yourself to help voters (age, education, current occupation, where you live).

I am a Campus Minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Davidson College. As an ordained minister, I hold a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, I now reside in Davidson with my husband, Marvin, a Davidson native.

Why are you running for this role and why should voters pick you?  Please share any experience in an elected role that would be relevant to voters.

I am currently serving in my second two-year term as a Commissioner for the Town of Davidson, where I am dedicated to a community first approach, integrity in action and future minded growth. With over four decades of community service, leadership, and advocacy, I am committed to strengthening partnerships between residents, local organizations, and civic leaders to create a thriving, inclusive community. Grounded in faith and driven by purpose, I am running for re-election to the Town of Davidson Board of Commissioners to continue building a Davidson that preserves its character, values community engagement, and prepares the next generation to lead with purpose and hope.

Tell us about 2-3 professional accomplishments you have achieved in your work experience (not limited to public service) that give voters a sense of your leadership style or skills.

Professional accomplishments include twenty-five years of experience in Information Technology management in the educational, financial, and social services fields. Currently serving on the Town's Story Telling Committee, Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce board, LKN Chamber Diversity Council, Town Gown, Affordable Housing for the Carolinas board. I am the recipient of Davidson College 2025 Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Community Award.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish in the first six months if elected?

I would like to see the disbanded Affordable Housing & Equity advisory board restructured into specific task force committees focused on attainable and sustainable housing, community engagement and storytelling projects.

What is your position on the proposed transit tax and why? Will you vote in favor of it or against it in November?

I support the referendum. I believe it will provide relief to the traffic congestion, equitable transit, reduce environmental impacts, improvements to CATS bus stop amenities and expansion of Micro-transit services, and much needed funding for road, intersection, bike lane, and sidewalk projects to the municipalities within Mecklenburg County.

What endorsements from any notable NC organizations or individuals have you received?

Endorsements to date include Dems of Davidson, MeckDems

Tell us something unexpected about you that voters may be interested to know.

Something people might not expect about me is that I’m actually an introvert. Even though I spend much of my time connecting with people through ministry and community work, I recharge in quiet moments of reflection and prayer. Those times help me listen more deeply and lead with empathy.
