Description:

Hoover says she believes strongly in accountability and ethics. She wants to increase the transparency in public records within Matthews, the use of tax dollars, and the overall trust of citizens in their local government. As of this past February, she has apparently reversed her opposition to the sales tax referendum. She cites three testimonials from Matthews citizens on her website which speak to her stance on protecting private property from developers. She says, “Don’t Charlotte my Matthews!” She advocates cutting the budget of Matthews by cutting events such as the town government’s “Employee Luncheon.” Hoover was the top vote-getter for the Matthews Board of Commissioners in the 2023 election.

Hoover graduated from Independence High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College. She has lived in Matthews for 38 years and is a registered Republican. She is endorsed by MeckGOP.
